About Gems by Jewell

When Jewell was a young girl, she had
dreams of becoming a fashion
designer. However, she enrolled in the
McCormick School of Engineering at
Northwestern University at the urging
of career counselors. After completing
her undergraduate studies, her love of
fashion could no longer be contained
and she found herself working in the
jewelry buying offices of Famous Barr,
a division of the May Company. Her
experience as a buyer in the jewelry
department awakened the slumbering
designing bug within. With 10 years
experience in the fashoin/retail
industry under her belt, she moved to
New York City to launch a jewelry
business. Designing fabulous jewelry
has become a passion that she wishes
to share with others.
She also wishes to share part of her
earnings with the Leukemia &
Lymphoma Society in memory of her
mother. 15% of all profits will be
donated to the LLS.
